The Bierzo El Bierzo and we can not let this anniversary pass by institutions. July, withdrawal of El Bierzo army general constitutional Morillo goes to Lugo. These troops flee Chief policy of the province and the provincial deputies. On the same date, the game realistic Escarpizo Manuel Alvarez took Ponferrada and Captain Andrés Narváez Villafranca does the same, with the support of the French troops of the French general Hubert. -1
October 1823 King Ferdinand signed the Decree that declares "null and worthless all governmental acts clamor." So from this day the province is suppressed liberal Villafranca del Bierzo, and restores the former province of El Bierzo, in effect for the Old Regime.
